Welcome to the inaugural post for Midwest Photography Workshops. As many of you are aware, MPW is the largest independent photography school in Michigan. Our goal is to help you become the best photographer you can be. We offer over 200 classes, workshops and photo safari trips. Also we have classrooms, state of the art studio, computer printing lab, and framing facilities. Whether you are new to photography or a seasoned pro, MPW has something for you. MPW can take you from the very basics of how to work your camera; to opportunities to shoot great images; to the digital editing of your image and finally to the printing and framing of your image. There are techniques to be learned at each step. Through this blog our goal is to educate you with tips and techniques; inspire you with beautiful images and hopefully entertain you!

In this post, I would like to talk about the advantages of photo safari trips. MPW Photo Safari trips are actually small group travel tours led by an instructor with the purpose of assisting you to capture beautiful images. In many cases, a local guide is employed to transport us to the shooting locales. Both photographers with less experience and more experience gain a great deal from the trips. The small group is tailored to address everyone’s goals in the trip. For some that might mean rethinking composition or working on exposure. For others it might mean getting to the right place at the right time to take advantage of the best light . Techniques are taught and practiced in the field, with real time feedback. This allows you to work on a technique until it is mastered. There is no greater way to improve your photographic skills that having unrestricted access to an instructor for several days. Of course, you will enjoy wonderful meals and develop a strong sense of camaraderie with your fellow students. In the end, you will leave with elevated skills, beautiful images, a wonderful travel experience and new friendships.

Shoot what makes your heart sing!!
